Kent Counseling Service Overview
In addition to our mock entrance exams and crash courses, Kent Prep also offers counseling services for both students and parents. We encourage parents to be involved in their child’s education since we believe that this is a crucial aspect of each child’s journey through education. It is also imperative that parents are familiar with the secondary and higher education system in the United States as well as understand Kent’s curriculum and expectations for each child.
The following are detailed counseling services offered her at Kent Prep:
College Application (12G)
Many students find that the most difficult and exhausting aspect of applying to college is tackling the application itself. Our counseling services guide students through each step of the application process, including; filling out applications forms, proofreading personal essays, composing recommendation letters (upon request), providing interview protocol, and other steps of the application process.
College Financial Aid / FAFSA Application (12G)
For many students, filing for financial aid is equally as important as applying for admissions. Through our counseling services, we provide professional financial aid counselors that will carefully examine each individuals circumstances and help parents to determine the best possible financial route for their child. This service also includes helping students and parents fill out financial aid application forms from start to finish. We understand this process can add unwanted burdens, if not fully prepared. At Kent, we are here to help students and parents go through each process smoothly and successfully.
College Admission Preparation (9G-11G)
This counseling service is for high school students that will be applying to colleges in the very near future. Our counselors guide students in choosing the right college and prepare for the next few years of their higher educational careers.
Specialized High School & Private High School Preparation
This guidance service is for students and parents preparing to apply to specialized high schools in New York City. Our students have attending the most renowned high schools, such as Stuyvesant and Hunter, for almost two decades. Our experienced counselors guide students and parents through every step of the high school admissions process, ensuring that students are fully prepared for the various entrance exams.
Elementary Enrichment (Alpha, Magnet, IGC, Gifted & Talented Programs)
This counseling service is offered to our younger students and their parents, specifically offering parents information and guidance about the educational system in the US. Parents that seek this type of counseling are typically eager to give their children a head start toward secondary education.
